Like a ton of Rocks

They someimes even forget to lock the door and then it's like a brick wall which has collapsed on you and you can't get any air.

YUCK :-(

Edit: Not that I have anything against smokers, they are also only humans.

The worst kind of smokers are those who ,just before the bus comes, take a big pull at their cigarette and then get onto the bus and blow all the smoke out.

No. 3

A Day at work (Part 1)

Works/Civil Service is not that bad. Most of the time I sit at the reception taking phone calls, making notes and bore my self ;-)

Coloring isn't that well, still looking for my path of doing the coloring.

Again …

Just did this one quickly …

… Don't even know why ;-) …

Huzzah for cookies …

This one isn't so sketchy as the last one, which is a lot better.
The colors come out a lot better (no to bright).

… and I just saw that I've got a spelling mistake (never mind) …

Idea ???

It's a Idea, but who knows where it will lead???

One black/white and one color version …

These were again sketched out in Alias Sketchbook. Coloring and Layout in Photoshop.

Ok, I think I'm getting the hang of this …

This fellows name is Wolf …… ok that's just a temporary name.

I'm not to sure abot the green jacket and pants and the purple leggings. Looks like a military ninja. Otherwise I quite like how the character turned out all in all, … actually I quite like it, especially the red strips.

Feedback anyone??????

And Another One

Oh my god another character …

Sketching was a bit messy. What I basically do is sketch/draw the figures in Sketchbook and then in color it in Photoshop, with the layer option multiply. Then the (bad) shading on a extra layer with opacity set at around 40 % with just black and white.

HEY WHERE'S THE FEEDBACK??????

Just kidding, although a feedback would be nice ;-)

Another One

Another character …

A few of you might know that the characters belong to that little project that I've been constantly scribbling away at over the last 3 to 5 years. If a greater motivation boost arrives, who knows, I'll probably start it for real, but who knows. It's up to DESTINY to decide ;-)

p.s: YES I KNOW THE PROPORTIONS AREN'T 100 % CORRECT … nobody is perfect

BUSY

I strated today my second week of civil service. It's actually not that bad. I just have to oder folders, pack letters, arange documents and mainly answer the phone at "Wiener Hilfswerk". Just a bit strenuious.

Here a piece I did … hope more will follow …

Drawn/Sketched in Sketchbook and colored in Photoshop. Main point of this drawing was to find a good color theme for the character. I'm not to sure with how it came out. Some of you might recognise the character and know about its background. So it would be cool if you (e.g; Bhairava, David, Lorens, Jakob, … e.t.c) could give some feed back (on the color theme or propose a complete different one).

edit: personally I like the first one, where the red is over the blue.

Design

A small trip into the area of design. Just decided to randomly do it. Haven't done anything design stuff for some time now, it's fun to sit and contemplate about a design for hours and hours (as long it doesn't go on for to long ;-)).

I'm not to sure about the black circles under the symbols, especially by the third one it looks like the base of the screen is the continuation of the black circle, or just a mistake made in Illustator (by the way, this piece of work was made in Illustrator and Photoshop).

Here's a little something I threw up in a couple of minutes last night. My sister borrowed my laptop, so I set it as my desktop background. Feel free to download it and use it to Â…

Happy Buddha

A piece of work titled "Happy Buddha". I originally wanted to have different religious signs hidden in the picture, but I thought it wouldn't be quite right. So I ended just doing the Buddha.

edit: if the link above doesn't work then here is another one.

The Cosmic Trilogy

One of my favorite books is "The Cosmic Trilogy" from C.S. Lewis. You might know the individual books "Out of the Silent Planet", "Perelandra", "That Hideous Strength". If you have not read them, I highly recommend reading them. Although they don't share the simplicity in storytelling of the "Narnia" series, you can see similarities. "The Cosmic Trilogy" is a very unique book, which like Tolkiens "Lord of the Rings" relates the battle between good and evil, only here on a cosmic scale and without all the historical backgrounds etc.
Also the books are written so well, that you have no problem visualizing the worlds and events that appear in the books.
Here's a picture of a creature which appears in the first book "Out of the Silent Planet". It's an intelligent inhabitant of Mars (more intellgent than humans, but live like cave men). The species go about the name of Sorns, not the only race on mars.

The character design is my idea of how a Sorn would look based on the description in the book. It's just a quick sketch that I did in a couple of minutes, so it is a bit rough.
I'll certainly be doing a couple of more illustations and character designs from the book. I'm really looking forward to it.

edit: @ Bhairava: correction propositions?? I know the legs & feet aren't that fantastic, but otherwise I quote like how the head chest turned out.
